Joe DePlasco

Managing Director

Joe DePlasco oversees many of DKC’s corporate, public affairs and crisis issue accounts. He is currently overseeing the public relations effort for the Forest City Ratner Atlantic Yards project in Brooklyn. In addition, he manages DKC’s New Business unit. Joe gained his broad public policy and crisis management experience in several tours of duty in politics and government, including Mark Green’s (Democratic nominee for Mayor 2001) and Mayor David Dinkins’ campaigns, Carolyn Maloney’s successful bid for Congress (1992) and other political and governmental stints. He also served as communications director for Green in the Office of the Public Advocate. Joe additionally worked for the Dinkins administration. He holds two graduate degrees in American history from Columbia University. In addition to speech writing for government officials and politicians, his articles and op-eds, under his name and for others, have appeared in the New York Post, New York Daily News, Newsday and various public policy magazines.
